Board Member Benefits
WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE SERVICE & FOCUS BOARD MEMBERS PROVIDE THE RUTH!
Our doors and hearts are open to you in a spirit of reciprocity. We strive to offer you support in accomplishing your Board goals as well as facilitate personal/professional wins where our facilities, programs, and policies allow. To ensure we offer these benefits with consistency and parity, please adhere to the following guidelines:
IMPACT CLUB HOSTING
If you are an Impact Club member, we encourage you to bring qualified prospects with you, at no charge on your assigned theater night. (space permitting)
If you are not an Impact Club member, you are welcome to attend an Impact Club theater night if you are hosting prospective Impact Club members or prospective major donors, so that they can experience the community, catered meal, and performance.
GUIDELINES FOR BRINGING QUALIFIED PROSPECTS
-
Contact SAPHRAINE WALKER at saphrainewalker@theruth.org to check availability at least TWO WEEKS prior to the night you wish to book.
-
Guests may be invited on Thursday or Saturday nights only (for 2026; may shift in future seasons). Please check the 2026 Impact Club night calendar for available dates.
-
1 table of up to 8 guests per Impact Club theater night is reserved for Board and executive team guests; these spaces will fill on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
There is no charge to the Board member or guest(s) attending the Impact Club night.
COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS
Board members may request complimentary tickets for performances based on the following criteria:
Standby Tickets
Standby tickets will no longer be offered. This change ensures board members do not need to arrive and wait without certainty of entry.
Flex Season Ticket
Each board member will receive one Flex Season Ticket for personal use with a plus one. Contact Sydney.Dameron@theruth.org with any questions
Each Flex Season Ticket allows you to come once per show—any day of the week, any time—and includes one free date change per show. This ticket type allows you the freedom to choose your dates and seats as each show approaches, rather than at the time of purchase. For best seating, call or visit the box office at least 6 weeks in advance. You may select up to Tier 2 in the Lindsay Legacy Theater and up to Tier 3 in the Smith Grand Theater without an increase in price.
VIP Pass Along Cards
-
Each board member will receive 20 VIP pass along cards featuring your name and Saphaine Walker’s direct contact information so guests can secure the best available seating. We will hand these out at the next board meeting, if you'd like them prior to April 22nd, please reach out to saphraine.walker@theruth.org

GIFTING VOUCHERS
A Board member may request up to 10 total tickets (5 vouchers) for distribution to support any single non-profit (501(c)3) event or related activity of their choosing. These may be used as gifts/prizes/raffle items to create awareness and community goodwill for The Ruth.
Too, a Board member may choose to gift a voucher to a prospect or influential individual as thanks or as a drawing/gift/prize at a hosted event.
Vouchers for Board use are “VIP vouchers,” good for any seat in any performance, typically for any production with availability with the exception of special engagements, i.e. A Christmas Carol.
Board members may request up to 100 total tickets (50 vouchers) per season. Voucher codes are valid only for their season (i.e. “The 2026 season”). To request vouchers, contact any member of The Ruth Development Team or Executive Team. VIP Vouchers are one-time use only per account and are distributed as physical vouchers which may be required to be surrendered to the box office at the time of redemption.
EVENT SPACE
The Ruth has many beautiful spaces ideal for client meetings, small gatherings, and large events. As a Board member, you may offer space to others and request space yourself to use, within the following guidelines:
OFFERING SPACE TO A PROSPECTIVE DONOR/SPONSOR
-
Contact a member of The Ruth Development Team or Executive Committee or Greg Cook to request a meeting space. DO NOT promise or confirm the prospect that space is guaranteed to be available prior to getting approval from The Ruth.
-
Available meeting spaces include: The WCF Boardroom, The Columbian Bank Lounge, The Murray Ballroom, and the Lindsay Legacy Lobby.
-
One space above = one booking. If more than one space is reserved for a single event, each space counts as a booking.
-
Event spaces are available Monday–Saturday between 8 am–10 pm unless otherwise specially arranged.
-
Your space is not confirmed until all approvals are complete.
-
Members of the Dev/Executive Committee Teams have reviewed your request for availability and fit of use. All policies of The Ruth must be aligned.
-
Your prospect may not request space more than 5 months in advance, to allow the opportunity for paid bookings to reserve the space.
-
Your prospect may not receive more than 2 free space rentals for his/her group per calendar year.
-
No free space rentals are permitted in the month of December.
-
Your prospect agrees to pay all fees associated with catering, linens, setup/teardown, cleaning, and insurance coverage (as required). Snacks/beverages/concessions and table décor are not included in any free option.
-
Use of in-place TVs and equipment at no additional charge is permitted. Any special A/V or technical setup requiring personnel or additional equipment may have a charge to the client.
BOARD MEMBER AD HOC USE OF SPACE
From time to time, Board members may have need of meeting space for a small, informal group or business meeting. If the Boardroom or Lounge are available, we welcome Board member use of these smaller meeting spaces.
Please contact MERRILEE MOODY at merrilee.moody@theruth.org at least 2 weeks prior to your meeting to check availability. She can reserve one of these smaller spaces for your group. No additional setup will be provided for these ad-hoc uses. Both rooms include seating for approximately 10–12 guests, whiteboard, and TV with wifi access for virtual meeting connections.
WHAT GUIDELINES COVER FREE SPACE BOOKINGS?
-
The individual may not receive more than 2 free spaces for his/her group per calendar year.
-
The free space may not be confirmed more than 5 months in advance to prioritize paying (and non-profit) standard bookings.
-
December is a blackout month.
-
Free space includes space ONLY. No concessions/food/snacks or beverages, linens, catering, etc. will be provided.
-
To consider: having the recipient pay for employee setup/tear down time and cleaning fee OR provide their own team for setup/tear down (with supervision).
